California Pizza Kitchen Seasonal Menu Is More Than Pizza
As guests of California Pizza Kitchen, we were invited to try out their new seasonal menu for the Fall season. Below is a recap of our experience.
I must start this off by being honest—it’s been years since I’ve been to California Pizza Kitchen. CPK has never been my thing, I guess because if I want pizza, I think of other places. But when invited with the promise that I would be shown a variety of options from their menu, I had to take them up on their offer. Who can say no to that?
When we arrived, we were greeted by one of the managers of the California Pizza Kitchen Creve Coeur location. He was excited about showing off their new seasonal menu with treats created for the autumn palate with ingredients that were in season. My daughter and I were excited about having a Mommy/Daughter night out.
I was given a Blueberry Ginger Smash to begin my evening with (she had lemonade). It was a refreshing blend of sweet and savory, as the ginger and blueberries played well together. The cocktail was made with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Monin Organic Agave Nectar, Domaine de Canton Ginger, Fresh Blueberries and Lime, and Cranberry Juice.
Once my cocktail was in play, we were served the Brussels and Bacon Flatbread. We aren’t bacon eaters, but the brussels sprouts had us at hello! Taking a bite of this treat was like taking a nice walk on a nice autumn day—simply wonderful. With Roasted Brussels sprouts with sweet caramelized onions, creamy goat cheese, Romano and cracked black pepper, it’s got amazing flavor.
That was my standout plate of the evening.
As a contender to this favorite was their Buffalo Chicken with Cauliflower. Served with blue cheese and gorgonzola, this was my daughter’s personal treasured plate.

As you can see, California Pizza Kitchen’s menu is expansive and covers way more than just pizza. We were both pleasantly impressed.
Just when we thought we couldn’t eat anymore, dessert was sent to our table. Pumpkin Cheesecake, a seasonal delicacy, was served with a heaping of fresh whipped cream and a drizzle of praline sauce.
After this wonderful experience at California Pizza Kitchen, I am a now a fan. With attention to fresh ingredients, creative flavors, and prices that don’t break the bank, they’ve won me over.
It also got my 12 year-old’s seal of approval.
