When entertaining a lot of people, buffet style is the way to go. And when dessert is on the menu, it helps to have options that people can serve themselves.

Creating mini desserts can make an impression. It allows you to get ingenious with presentation, and cuts down on the mess. Each year during the holiday season, we opt to serve mini desserts and small plate options. One of our favorite small styled items is Mini Apple Crisps. They are a sweet lover’s dream, and makes for a memorable dessert.

These Mini Apple Crisps are also perfect as pint sized desserts for the kid’s table.

Unlike other Apple Crisp recipes, we use Granny Smith apples, as the sourness is a great compliment to the sweetness of the white and brown sugar.

Serve the filling in mini pie crusts, or use fun mini skillets that will allow your guests to help themselves.
