Teatopia Is Serving Up Tea Goodness in a Small But Mighty Space
Get to know this new black owned tea shop in the heart of St. Louis.
As an avid tea lover and St. Louis resident, I was uber excited to hear about Teatopia, a new tea shop located in the historic Cherokee neighborhood. Known for its trendy cafes and spaces, Teatopia is a great fit for the area.
Opened on January 30th, Teatopia is the brainchild of owner Reo Quarles. A tea aficionado as well, he traveled America visiting tea shops. He also took online tea classes and is now a tea shop owner in his own right.
The location is tiny, at about 300 square feet. With six seats, visiting Teatopia on a busy day was hard to get into, but me and my daughter managed to procure a table. We both drank Earl Grey (my favorite) with honey, cream, and raw sugar. It was hot and so good!
Teatopia is pretty intimate and miniscule, but the service more than made up for that. Reo is an attentive owner and was able to get everyone in and out. Even though it’s a new establishment, it has been getting a lot of buzz around the city, so the customers keep coming.
In this vibrant tea shop, you can get forty varieties of tea alongside a few food items like salads and wraps. Some of the condiments are infused with tea as well, so you get a complete tea experience.
With so many negative things happening in St. Louis City, it helps to hear about brothers like Reo making a positive impact on the area. I am looking forward to visiting Teatopia again soon. There are thirty-nine more flavors of tea I must try!
